Job Desc: SUMMARY: Responsible for performing, with minimal supervision, various accounting functions, including general ledger journal entry preparation, account analysis and reconciliation, monthly closing tasks, and financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
•   Prepare journal entries with sufficient supporting documentation to back up significant accruals, labor, inventory, and other accounts
•   Prepare intercompany and consolidation journal entries as required
•   Monitor the validity of accrual calculations
•   Complete account reconciliations and investigate any un-reconciled balances
•   Maintain fixed asset system that records acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and asset depreciation. Prepare fixed asset entries and reconciliations
•   Maintain property registers and prepare accurate and timely filings of real estate and property taxes with the county
•   Document and maintain period-end closing processes. Identify and implement process improvements to increase the speed and accuracy of period-end close
•   Field information requests and prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses for stakeholders
•   Assist other General Accounting Staff or Contractors by cross-checking work, sharing knowledge and expertise, and fostering a results-oriented work environment
•   Research GAAP and tax accounting issues that may impact business transactions
•   Prepare and file returns for Washington State Business and Occupancy Tax and Washington State Dept. of Labor and Industries
•   Significant involvement in Oracle Project Costing implementation, roll-out, and future accounting and reporting projects.
•   Assist with interim and year end financial statement audits.
•   Regular and prompt attendance.
•   Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

•   Ability to meet deadlines and consistently perform in a results-oriented work environment
•   Self starter attitude. Takes ownership and accepts responsibility for entire work scope. Moves tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
•   Willingness to work more than a standard 40 hour work week as business needs dictate
•   Accounting principles (US GAAP)
•   Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Lookup functions, Pivot Tables, Filtering, etc.
•   Strong written communication. Comfortable documenting processes and procedures for others to follow
•   Strong verbal communication. Confident and articulate. Ready to participate in meetings with Senior Management.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

ENVIRONMENT:
Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare.

Requirements: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: •   Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required•   Five or more years of direct general ledger accounting experience, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and fixed asset accounting required•   Direct experience with Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Inventory) required•   Intercompany accounting and consolidation experience preferred•   Experience in Construction, Professional Services, Manufacturing, or other labor intensive industries preferred•   Direct experience with Oracle Project Billing, Project Costing, and Financial Statement Generator preferred•   Direct experience with Cognos/TM1 preferred•   CPA and/or Public Accounting experience preferred•   Experience in Private Equity ownership environment preferred
