Job Desc:

This position is primarily a pilot for MD500E helicopters for inspection and larviciding of salt marshes and night vision flying of congested residential areas. Incumbent supervises a helicopter mechanic and works closely with ground inspection, larviciding and adulticiding work groups.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
Completion of approved flight training with commercial Pilots license with rotor craft instrumental helicopter rating.
Minimum flight experience of 3,000 hours in helicopters with 300 hours in McDonnell Douglas 500 Model Helicopter or other turbine powered helicopters.
Possession of a Commercial Pilot’s License with rotorcraft, instrument helicopter rating.
Must, within six (6) months of appointment, be examined and certified in Rotorcraft Pesticide spray application, Public Health Aerial Pest Control License and Public Health Pest Control.
Must meet all FAA requirements.
Possession of current class II flight physical.
Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
