| Job Desc: |
Ameriflight, the country’s largest Part 135 cargo airline company seeks a MAINTENANCE MANAGER to be located at our Phoenix, Arizona operation.
This position assumes full responsibility at the base for supervision of a crew of mechanics including supervisors and leads. In the role, you will control and coordinate up to 20 aircraft including outstation aircraft, schedule aircraft for inspections and oversee and provide leadership in the daily activities of technicians and other assigned production staff. You will also schedule modifications, MEL’s, Service Bulletins (SB), Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Time Control work.
Managing all maintenance functions, coordinating operations to meet goals and time lines and building solid check plans to meet maintenance schedule on or under budget are critical elements to this job. You will be expected to mentor and coach subordinates to improve productivity and morale, be a team builder that creates strong effective group operations and provide strong communication skills that promote positive and lasting relations with the maintenance group as well as external departments.
The successful candidate must effectively interact daily with flight crews and operations personnel, possess a strong commitment to safety and compliance and maintain station facilities with an eye towards cleanliness and organizational improvements.
Required experience includes a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience, solid aircraft experience within a fast paced maintenance operation and a proven record in thinking “outside the box” in a pro-active way that promotes continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. You must hold a valid and current FAA mechanic’s certification with Airframe & Power plant ratings. Five years of piston and turbo prop aircraft experience preferred with experience with Piper, Metro and Beech 99/1900’s.
